About the Role

As a Middle School Math Teacher at Merryhill School, you will guide students as they deepen their mathematical understanding, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop the confidence needed to approach complex concepts. Demonstrate proficiency in teaching general mathematics (grades 5-8) and pre-algebra and algebra concepts Maintain a strong understanding of middle school learners and developmentally appropriate practices Must have previous experience teaching math at the middle school level (grades 5–8) Experience with differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching practices Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons Promote positive social and emotional development in students Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of methods Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded educational experience Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and growth Maintain a structured, organized, and inspiring classroom environment Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student engagement Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution Teaching certification in math or a related subject preferred Prior teaching experience, especially at the middle school level, preferred Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills Ability to pass state and federal background checks A passion for teaching and supporting student development To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
