Description

Position Summary

Completion of Master’s Level Practicum and Pre-practicum hours, and/or supervision toward associates’ licensure. Under general supervision is responsible for developing and practicing skills related to the, ethical and quality treatment services to students and families from intake through discharge. Provides supervised, individual, family and group therapy, as well as crisis intervention. Develops an understanding of and practices appropriate documentation. Develops skills related to working with a treatment team, and other professionals including psychiatric providers, Case Managers, and oversight bodies. Gain experience and understanding of ethical treatment practices, treatment plan development, diagnosis, treatment modalities, working with culturally diverse populations, assessment, and tracking client progress. Develop and practice trauma informed skills and modalities related to the treatment of adolescents.

Essential functions: · Works with an accredited College or University to develop an academic plan that:

o Develops a curriculum of study o Defines necessary hours of attendance and direct client contact requirements o Outlines requirements to receive college credit o Outlines supervisor requirements for oversight and assessment o Outlines weekly schedule for time on campus, and direct client time, with supervisor o Identifies the academic advisor, contact information, and communication expectations

· Develops an understanding and practices basics of Treatment Planning, recommendations and how to provides holistic individual and family therapy services. o Maintains contact with the Psychiatrist, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, and Case Managers. Observes and participates in the preparation, review and revision of the individual service plan and generates the Treatment Progress and Recommendation portions of the discharge summary Develops an understanding of providing service alternatives to traditional psychotherapy in accordance with best practices through supervised practice Under supervision, advises the family, Caseworker, Care Manager, Case Manager, and placing agency of therapeutic services available. Observes and participates with clients and/or families, as scheduled, for individual and/or family therapy. o Consults with teachers, behavioral health technicians, nurses and support staff to gather information on the Clients' progress in treatment and MMA. Develops skill toward and assists with crisis intervention and assessment Attends clinical group supervision Prepares Clinical Staffing Reports and service plans · 2.

Documentation

o Documents individual sessions and groups consistent with the service plan and contract requirements. o Ensures documentation of contact is routed to clients’ chart. Completes staffing reports and service plans. Completes BPS and Risk assessments, as appropriate. Completes documents needed for placing agencies, as assigned. Completes staffing reports, progress notes, and service plan updates. · Observation and participation in a multidisciplinary team · Obtains professional liability insurance · Observation and participation in staff development opportunities and may facilitate, as assigned. · Completion of Sanctuary Training, Non-violent crisis intervention, Ukeru, and online training courses · Adheres to Mingus policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA.
