The Education Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty position in Elementary Education, for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a part-time benefited position. We seek applicants who can teach the following foundational courses in the program:

EDUC 321 Elementary Methods

Literacy and Social Studies - Integration of theoretical and practical approaches to literacy and social studies instruction in grades K-6. Application of curriculum development (lesson planning and cross-curricular integration), structured literacy instruction and assessment, children's literature, pedagogical practices and arts integration through extended clinical experiences.

The Education Department at Keene State College is in the ongoing process of enhancing the curriculum in our program to better prepare our future educators for today’s diverse classrooms. The department utilizes assessments, feedback from the field, and our collective expertise to continually improve and evolve the education program. The Education Department includes both undergraduate and graduate programs in the preparation of teachers. Keene State College holds CAEP accreditation for all educator preparation programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned master’s degree in education or related field by August 1, 2026.
  • Minimum of five years full-time teaching experience in public schools at the elementary level (K-6)
  • Availability to teach in-person, during the day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am-12pm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in literacy content and pedagogy
  • Experience teaching in an inclusive environment with diverse student populations (examples: SES, students with IEPs and 504 plans, ELL, cultural, and racial/ethnic)
  • College teaching experience
  • Supervision experience

Compensation Pay Range

$800 per credit or $840 with a terminal degree.
