As a Preschool & Recreational Gymnastics Coach at Jump! Gymnastics, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment where children can learn and grow through gymnastics. You will lead classes by following our curriculum and themes while fostering a positive, supportive, and safe atmosphere. Your role is to ensure that students are progressing, enjoying their classes, and receiving individualized attention, while keeping parents informed of their child’s progress and events at Jump!

We provide full training to all of our coaches to ensure you feel confident and equipped to deliver high-quality instruction. Whether you're looking for an afternoon job, a college job, or an afterschool job and you love working with children and are passionate about teaching, we'd love to have you on our team!

What we're looking for

  • Experience in gymnastics, dance, cheer, yoga, or a related sport.
  • Previous childcare experience (babysitting, caring for younger siblings, or similar roles count).
  • Dedicated and committed to coaching all assigned classes.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for working with kids.
  • Comfortable with incorporating thematics into classes, including telling stories, dressing up, and engaging in creative activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Coach
  • Classes: Deliver engaging gymnastics lessons, following our curriculum and themes while focusing on skill development, building children’s confidence, and creating a fun, imaginative environment.
  • Evaluate
  • Progress: Monitor student development to ensure appropriate placement in the program, and celebrate achievements to inspire continued growth and confidence.
  • Communicate with
  • Parents: Keep families informed about their child’s progress and upcoming events while fostering a welcoming, supportive connection with parents.
  • Maintain the
  • Facility: Keep the facility clean, safe, and organized for both children and staff.
  • Support
  • Events: Participate in Advancement Shows, Parent’s Night Out, and Camp Jump! on AISD school closure days.
  • Uphold the
  • Culture: Promote Jump!’s culture of fun and learning for children while contributing to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere among staff.

A typical day at jump! Gymnastics • 3

  • 00 PM:
  • Preparation: Clock in, check your email, and get ready for an action-packed afternoon.
  • 3:20 PM:
  • Coaching: Lead four 50-minute classes, each with 4-6 students. Between classes, you'll communicate with parents about their child's progress, track attendance and skills, and celebrate skills mastered.
  • 7:20 PM:
  • Administrative
  • Tasks: Check emails, write birthday cards, prep award ribbons, and reach out to students who’ve missed a few classes.
  • 7:30 PM:
  • Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of the facility, ensuring all equipment and areas are sanitized, organized, and ready for the next day.
  • 7:45 PM:
  • Departure: Wrap up, check your email one last time, and clock out knowing you made a difference.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree for Manager roles).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Commitment to a consistent evening and Saturday schedule for a minimum of one year.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of two shifts a week from 3PM-8PM and Saturdays from 8:30AM-3PM

Physical requirements

  • Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
  • Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
  • Ability to spot a gymnast, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move equipment, including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.
  • Must have the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies, such as evacuating children or performing CPR/first aid if necessary.
