Job description

  • Overview The psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents with severe emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disabilities is best accomplished within a comprehensive treatment program specifically designed to meet individualized needs.
  • For this reason, Southwood Psychiatric Hospital has created an Intellectual Developmental Disability / Autism Spectrum Disorder (IDD/ASD) Residential Treatment Program.
  • Located in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, the IDD/ASD Program provides treatment for up to 44 males between the ages of 6 and 21 years of age.
  • The staff-to-child ratio in this program is 1:4, ensuring that each patient who takes part in this programming option has the thorough support he needs to be successful during the treatment process.
  • We are hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join the team at the IDD/ASD RTF located in Canonsburg, PA (south of Pittsburgh).
  • Please note however, we are not on the public transportation system and individuals working in a patient-facing role, must be 21-years of age.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in the implementation of ABA programming on the Specialized Pediatric Unit Provides supervision to the Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavioral Health Associates Trains new staff on ABA techniques Keeps abreast of advances in treatment and sets appropriate goals for self-improvement Facilitates daily team meetings Attends staff meetings as required and completes all yearly mandatory in-services Provides direct services to the patients on the Specialized Pediatric Unit Conducts the appropriate assessments including ADOS and other specific assessments in atimely manner Participates in performance improvement activities Follows all hospital/facility policies and procedures Must maintain license or certification in good standing Flexible schedule. Possible weekends or evenings when appropriate Employee will be required to perform other job related duties as assigned by their supervisorOTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Experience with working with adolescent population Must be skilled and competent to provide services to the patient. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by BACB CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered byfacility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
