Job description

Adelphi is seeking a Private Duty Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one nursing services to students with severe disabilities in school settings across Missouri. The nurse will deliver care in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), support medical needs throughout the school day and transportation, and collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.

Requirements

  • Active Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
  • Compliance with Missouri nursing regulations (Chapter 335 RSMo)
  • Experience working with individuals ages 5–21 with severe disabilities preferred
  • Familiarity with IEPs and IDEA regulations preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one nursing care to assigned student(s) per IEP
  • Support student’s medical needs throughout the school day and during transportation (bus to/from school)
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to support IEP goals and student progress
  • Participate in and contribute to IEP development, documentation, and progress reporting
  • Deliver consultation and training to school staff as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records in compliance with regulations
  • Review student medical history and care plans to ensure informed service delivery
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and staffing
  • Ensure adherence to all state regulations, school policies, and safety standards
  • Maintain professional conduct and comply with all abuse prevention and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with school administrators and follow assigned schedules and duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
