Job overview

Swim Instructors are responsible for providing members with a high-quality experience to all ages and skill levels in a positive, safe, fun, and engaging environment. This position focuses on building swimming skills, teaching water safety, and gaining confidence in the water. Instructors will lead their own private lessons during 2 separate sessions in the summer with classes being scheduled anywhere between 8:30am and 10:30am. The lessons slots are 30 minutes long and are selected by the members, requiring instructors to be very organized and flexible.

Essential Job Functions

  • Thoroughlyplan and deliver swim lessons tailored to skill level and age groups.
  • Teach water safety skills and proper swimming techniques
  • Ensure the safetyof allparticipants by continuing to enforce pool rules and supervision
  • Be able to adapt lesson plans based on the swimmers needs, abilities and progress
  • Communicating professionally and clearly with members, parents, and supervisors.
  • Maintain a fun and positive attitude to ensure a good learning environment.
  • Track all attendance and participation progress throughout every single session/lesson.
  • Arrive early to ensure you are ready and have equipment set up
  • Cleaning equipment up after lessons
  • Respond to emergencies appropriately and follow all safety protocols
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth daily operations every day

Requirements

  • Hold a current Lifeguard Certification OR a Swim Instructor Certification
  • Strong swimming abilities and knowledge of the water safety practices
  • Ability to work Mon-Fri during 2separate5-week sessions
  • Experience working with children, pools and/or teachingprefered
  • Holdingstrong communicationand interpersonal skills
  • Ability to continuously remain alert, attentive, and responsible in the pool environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as both part of a team and individually

Expected Pay: COMMISSION (Approximately $30 per lesson at 35 minute sessions)
