Peer Mentors guide young adults with autism and learning disabilities through their college experience and post-high school journeys. They provide support to help students achieve success in higher education, careers, and independent living.

What does a Peer Mentor do? Peer Mentors help young adults attending Transitions navigate throughout their college experience. They help guide students through their post-high school journeys and support them to achieve success in higher education, in their careers, and in learning to live independently. Qualifications

High School Degree or GED is required Be enrolled in a College course or a recent college graduate is preferred Valid NYS Driver's license with 2 years' experience is preferred What Can Transitions Offer You? A Peer Mentor can earn between $19.12 - $22.64 per/hour Unique shifts that allow for up to 40 hours within three days Thursday - Saturday, or Saturday - Tuesday shifts available Live-in, day, evening, and weekend shifts available Paid training Both full-time and part-time positions are available What is Transitions? Transitions is a part of The Arc Lexington with campuses in Mayfield (Fulton County), Cobleskill and Albany. Transitions focuses on building academic skills, life and career skills and general independence for high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and/or other learning disabilities.
