The instructor shadows and assists with the instruction and motivation of students in swimming classes. They are responsible for building relationships with parents and students while maintaining required records.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old with some high school education and hold Red Cross certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen. They must also obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification after hire.
Shadows and prepares swimming lessons according to the YMCA guidelines Builds authentic relationships with students and parents Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules as appropriate Maintains records as required and attends staff meetings and trainings Performs other assigned duties as directed by the supervisor Abilities & Skills Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
