  • A Day in the Life as a Head Start Preschool Lead Teacher: As the Head Start Lead Teacher, you’ll play an essential role in providing all aspects of a quality child development program with emphasis on the cognitive, social and emotional development of preschool-aged children.
  • Your day will involve: Provides quality educational experiences for preschool-aged children by planning and preparing daily and weekly program experiences while considering the needs of children.
  • Engages in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children’s needs, development, and play interests.
  • Establishes consistent classroom routines and activities.
  • Designs and maintains a warm and nurturing classroom environment which meets the standards expressed in National Association for the Education of Young Children and NH Child Care Licensing regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications to Be a Preschool Lead Teacher: To excel in this role, you’ll need: Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education; or Associates Degree in a related field with ECE coursework, including Child Growth and Development Experience: Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with young children and their families and ability to relate comfortably to income-eligible families.
