Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow conducts speech-language evaluations and intervention for children under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. Completes paperwork and documentation of client progress for intervention clients. Participates in feedback sessions focused on speech/language delay.

Additional Department Summary

The Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow appointment will span 9 months to allow for completion of the mandated ASHA clinical fellowship. The fellowship is available to applicants who have successfully completed a master’s degree or beyond in Speech-Language Pathology at an ASHA-accredited university. The applicant must be eligible for Alabama licensure in speech-language pathology and obtain licensure before the fellowship's start date. Required

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology. Eligible for licensure in the State of Alabama prior to start date.

Skills and Knowledge

Ability to conduct speech, language, and feeding evaluations for young children with a range of presenting concerns, as well as the necessary feedback and documentation for these evaluations. Capacity to provide therapeutic intervention to clients with primary referral concern of ASD, language disorder, and/or feeding concerns. Ability to complete paperwork and documentation of client progress for intervention clients. Possession of appropriate professional and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of the Praxis Exam. Experience working with pediatric populations. Experience with autism spectrum disorder.
