Lifeguard Position Type: Part time Scheduled Weekly Hours: Categories: Staff Non-exempt Job Summary: Job Duties: The Lifeguard position at Bucknell University is a part-time role within the Kenneth Langone Athletics & Recreation Center (KLARC). The primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of pool patrons during the summer and potentially into the academic year. This position is filled on an as-needed basis and is hourly, non-exempt, and not eligible for university benefits. Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Coordinator of Aquatic Operations Work Setting/Work Schedule: This is a casual, part-time position Ability to work a variety of schedules - including days, nights and weekends What You Will Do: Monitor the safety of pool patrons and enforce pool rules Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as necessary Maintain a clean and safe pool environment Complete required training and certification updates as needed What You Will Bring: Current American Red Cross certification in Lifesaving, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid Successful completion of a skills test including swimming 300 yards, treading water for 2 minutes, completing a timed event, and retrieving a diving brick from the bottom of the pool Must be at least 16 years old Physical Requirements: Work involves physical activity, such as: walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time Successful completion of a skills test including swimming 300 yards, treading water for 2 minutes, completing a timed event, and retrieving a diving brick from the bottom of the pool Job Exempt: No

Salary Range

12.50-12.50 The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
