About the role

Act as an educator and resource for staff, physicians, and families regarding hypertension management during pregnancy, delivery, and the post-partum period. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure appropriate follow-up and education on the risks associated with high blood pressure.

Position Summary

Act as an educator/Resource Person for staff, physicians, and families throughout pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum period. Provide hypertension management strategies and ensure appropriate education and understanding of the risks of high blood pressure during pregnancy, delivery and post-partum period. This will include understandings symptoms, what interventions are appropriate, and collaborating with medical team of physicians and RNs to ensure appropriate follow-up. This will include navigating patients to appropriate post-discharge follow-up. To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, family members, and the community by coordinating and providing educational activities in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Respond effectively to new and changing working environments. This RN will also ensure appropriate education is provided to the physicians and staff within the Family Care Pavilion for early recognition and intervention for patients with or at risk for hypertension or preeclampsia. Education BSN degree, registered Nurse with clinically relevant experience in labor and delivery or post-partum. ANCC approved Certification required.

Schedule

Monday -

Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Experience Registered Nurse with clinically relevant experience in labor and delivery or post-partum. Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. Clinically relevant experience in labor and delivery or post-partum preferred. Skills Current RN licensure in New Jersey. CPR Certification, and Unit Based Orientation which includes appropriate age and development competencies of the patient population served. Demonstrates effective interactive and communication (oral, written, presentation) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system; with patients and family members; and with multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem-solve and deliver care. Knowledge and competence in hypertension and preeclampsia guidelines with ability to educate patients and families about the risks and interventions based on symptoms in collaboration with the clinical team. Pay

Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with clinically relevant experience in labor and delivery or post-partum. ANCC approved certification is preferred, along with strong communication and critical thinking skills.
