About the role

The Middle School Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for leading and developing the boys soccer program for grades 6-8. This includes planning practices, teaching soccer fundamentals, and promoting sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Position Summary

The Middle School Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for leading and developing the Middle School’s boys soccer program (Grades 6th-8th) in a positive, educational, and competitive environment. The coach will help student-athletes build soccer skills, teamwork, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship while supporting the mission and values of the school.

Primary Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead practices, conditioning sessions, and games for the middle school boys soccer team Teach soccer fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and rules of the game Develop players’ skills in passing, shooting, defending, ball control, positioning, and teamwork Promote sportsmanship, respect, accountability, and character development among student-athletes Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities Ensure player safety and proper use of equipment and facilities Communicate effectively with players, parents, administration, officials, and athletic staff Maintain team discipline and enforce school and athletic department policies Assist with scheduling needs, equipment inventory, uniforms, and field setup/cleanup Encourage academic achievement and positive behavior among student-athletes Attend coaches meetings, athletic events, and professional development opportunities as required Represent the school and athletic program in a professional and positive manner

Qualifications

Previous soccer coaching or playing experience preferred Knowledge of middle school soccer rules, techniques, and player development Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to motivate, teach, and mentor middle school student-athletes Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and parents CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Time Commitment After-school practices during the soccer season Early Evening games Off-season communication and program support as needed Desired Characteristics Positive role model for students Passion for coaching and developing young athletes Dependable, energetic, and professional Strong commitment to student growth both on and off the field

Requirements

Previous soccer coaching or playing experience is preferred, along with knowledge of middle school soccer rules and techniques. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to student growth.
