The coach is responsible for leading and developing the middle school girls volleyball program, conducting practices and games, and ensuring player safety. They will also promote sportsmanship and teamwork among student-athletes.
The Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the school’s volleyball program in a positive, educational, and competitive environment. The coach will help student-athletes improve their volleyball skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and character while promoting the mission and values of the school. Primary Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct practices and games for the middle school girls volleyball team Teach fundamental volleyball skills, strategies, and game techniques Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and positive attitudes among student-athletes Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities Ensure the safety and well-being of all players at all times Communicate effectively with players, parents, administration, and athletic staff Maintain appropriate player discipline and uphold school and athletic department policies Assist with equipment management, uniforms, and facility setup/cleanup Encourage academic success and appropriate behavior among student-athletes Attend coaches meetings, professional development opportunities, and athletic events as required Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding schedules, transportation, and program needs Represent the school and athletic program in a professional and positive manner
Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience preferred Knowledge of middle school volleyball fundamentals and rules Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to motivate and mentor middle school student-athletes Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and parents CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Must meet all school, district, and/or state coaching requirements Time Commitment After-school practices, during the volleyball season.
