The Teacher's Assistant supports the lead teacher in implementing curriculum, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining an organized learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting students with activities, monitoring safety, and performing clerical tasks such as taking attendance.
Job Responsibilities
Assist classroom teacher in planning, designing and implementing curriculum.
Provide assistance as directed by the lead teacher.
Assists in maintaining classroom management plan, student behavior and classroom order.
Assist students with carrying out classroom activities.
Assist students during lunchtime.
Implement age-appropriate activities and monitor safety throughout.
Maintain student records and perform other clerical duties as directed by the lead teacher.
Help maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Ensure sanitation of all surfaces and equipment.
Assist students in social skills development.
Assist in putting up bulletin boards.
Assist in student bathroom breaks.
Take attendance and make copies as directed by the lead teacher.
Prepare and distribute work as directed by the lead teacher.
Provide guidance and redirection as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
