Job description
LSI is seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Services Specialist to support young people ages 16–24 in building the skills, confidence, and experience needed to succeed in the workforce. This role combines teaching, coaching, mentoring, and career development to help youth connect learning with real-world career opportunities. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with young adults, facilitating career readiness instruction, and helping individuals identify and pursue meaningful career pathways. This is a highly rewarding opportunity with a manageable caseload, strong team support, and the ability to make a direct impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities Work Directly with Youth Manage a small caseload of up to 15 participants Provide one-on-one coaching focused on career development and employment readiness Facilitate workplace readiness and career exploration lessons Help participants identify strengths, goals, and career interests Support confidence-building and personal development Support Learning & Skill Development Guide participants through online learning and training platforms Provide accountability, encouragement, and academic support Connect educational progress to real-world career pathways Assist youth in developing foundational workplace and life skills Connect Youth to Career Opportunities Coordinate and support: Job shadows Internships Work-based learning experiences Build relationships with local employers and community organizations Help participants transition into employment, training, or postsecondary opportunities Track Progress & Outcomes Maintain organized participant records and documentation Monitor progress toward goals and milestones Collaborate with internal staff to ensure participant success and program effectiveness
Required Qualifications Experience working with youth or young adults in education, workforce development, counseling, human services, or related fields Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to motivate, coach, and support individuals from diverse backgrounds Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage a small caseload
Preferred Qualifications
Background in: Teaching or education Career counseling Workforce development Human services Experience facilitating group instruction, workshops, or training sessions Familiarity with employment readiness or career pathway programming
