Position Overview Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Academic Tutors to support students in grades K–12 across a variety of subject areas.

Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages) Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results Track student progress and provide regular updates to families Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment Travel to students’ homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles, California area
Master’s degree or teaching certification Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one core academic area Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small-group instruction) Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners Excellent communication and organizational skills Reliable transportation Authorized to work in the United States

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria: You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private, public, or charter school You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college You are a Master’s/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college
