School Nurse

Substitute Position - June 4th - June 12th

Interim HealthCare- Maine is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse in Sanford, ME. The ideal candidate will provide quality nursing care to students, collaborate with school staff and families, and promote a safe and healthy school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students including assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to support student health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine.
  • Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health screening, assessment, and emergency care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
