- Level: 2 Year DegreeEpiscopal High School is seeking a skilled and dynamic full-time Nurse to work in our busy, full service boarding school health center. The hallmark of this unique setting is its strong sense of community, with students aged 14 - 18 years from across the US and around the world. Under the direction of the EHS Medical Director and Director of Health Services, the health center staff nurse will be part of a nursing team that performs and oversees the daily clinical operations and provision of care required for the Health Center to serve as an ambulatory care clinic, medication dispensary and overnight infirmary. This person will be required to work both independently and as part of a personable and closely collaborative nursing team, receiving regular support and supervision from the Director of Health Services, the Medical Director, and nursing leads, and be willing to work a variable schedule that would regularly include weekday day, evening and overnight shifts, as well as occasional weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and solid assessment skills, particularly with common or routine primary care complaints. This person must be organized, able to work both independently and on a team, able to multitask, willing to work under busy conditions, and able to collaborate and communicate effectively. Excellent customer service skills are essential. School-based health care experience is not necessary; comfort with adolescents is a must.

- Requirements: Bachelor’s (BSN) or Associate (RN) degree in Nursing Registration and certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or higher nursing degree) Two years clinical nursing experience in pediatrics, medical surgical or community health nursing preferred BLS Certified or willing and able to obtain certification Strong written, verbal, organization and interpersonal skills Familiar with the use and operation of a personal computer; experience with Electronic Medical Record programs preferred but not required Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to type routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively on the phone Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra such as adding, subtracting, and percentage calculation Current US driver’s license Physically able to climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the workday, walk across campus regularly, and perform emergency medical care Must be up to date on all required vaccines including MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B and Flu or possess titers with proof of immunity TB screening and/or chest x-ray results and TB treatment history is necessary.
