  • Rate: $60–75 per hour About Ascend Ascend is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and inclusive educational environment. We are looking for educators committed to student growth, collaboration, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards Develop and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies Support students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe disabilities in classroom and alternative educational settings Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor academic and behavioral progress Develop, manage, and maintain compliant IEPs, including progress reports and documentation Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families Utilize adaptive technology and instructional supports to increase student access to curriculum Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques Support student transition planning, vocational readiness, and life skills development when applicable Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives

Qualifications

Valid California Education Specialist Credential required Experience with Mod/Severe or ESN classrooms strongly preferred Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
