About the Role

As an Structured Literacy Tutor (Dyslexia Focus) at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in the Los Angeles, including Menifee, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Menifee, CA Schedule: 15 hours a month, 3x per week for 1.25 hours Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Teaching credential required Extensive experience working with adult learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech impairments Strong background in special education, transition programs, and functional academic instruction Skilled in teaching executive functioning, comprehension, writing, and practical math applications Comfortable supporting middle school through high school–level academics in both ELA and math Experience teaching algebra, geometry, math word problems, and applied problem-solving strategies Familiarity with coding/computer programming concepts and independent living skill development Patient, structured, and able to break complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps Strong communication and rapport-building skills with reserved or minimally verbal adult learners Able to create individualized lesson plans aligned with transition, vocational, and independent living goals Encouraging, engaging, and able to foster confidence and independence in adult students Your Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic instruction for an adult learner enrolled in a life skills transition program Support comprehension across multiple content areas, including reading, writing, math, and functional academics Teach executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, time management, and task completion Reinforce writing development, language conventions, reading comprehension, and communication skills Support math instruction in algebra, geometry, problem solving, statistics, and practical applications of math Incorporate custom learning goals related to coding/computer programming and independent living skills Break instruction into structured, easy-to-follow steps with detailed explanations and guided practice Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to build independence, confidence, and self-advocacy Use the student’s interests—including piano, colors/designs, and community activities—to increase engagement Develop personalized lesson plans and adapt instruction based on ongoing progress and student needs Why Tutor Me Education?
