Job description

  • The Early Learning Center Specialist is responsible for supporting the Early Learning Center with duties for the Child Development Department.
  • This person must abide in accordance with State licensing requirements, Federal regulations, and program policies and procedures.
  • This position will organize, support, and facilitate workflow in the Child Development Department and at the sites.

  • San Francisco CA (Req# 1681) Primary Responsibilities Include: Welcomes on-site visitors, determines the nature of the business and connects visitors to appropriate staff/individuals Ensures the safety of the facility by screening visitors and directing them to appropriate staff Monitors the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the facility; opens and closes the office daily Maintains/restores meeting rooms before and immediately following meetings, ensuring cleanliness and that adequate office supplies are available Directs incoming phone calls to the appropriate department/individual Ensures that incoming and outgoing mail and faxes are sorted and routed correctly Provides accurate organization and program information to visitors and callers Takes inventory and orders supplies for the center Tracking physicals and immunizations and follow up for state/tuition based Follow up on community resources and referrals for state/tuition based families Call families to follow up on attendance and complete Attendance Request Forms daily for all state/tuition based families Support with new family orientation for state/tuition based families Supports with the tracking and monitoring of operations requirements Supports the Center Manager with tasks as needed Supports the kitchen duties as needed Visits and supports classrooms as needed Supports the Center Staff with updating of bulletins boards and other informational sources as needed Supports the coordination of the Family Committee Meetings Supports Center with filing documentation in Children and Family Files as needed Works with assigned staff to plan, organize, and coordinate activities essential to the implementation of successful special events.
  • Other duties as assigned Knowledge/Experience/Skills Required: Proficient in Excel and Word 2 years of experience working as a direct service staff in a community based organization Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • 6 months of experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or young elementary children Billingual in Spanish is required Education Required: High school graduate; some college or related training preferred 12 units of Early Childhood and ability to procure Associate Teacher permit within 18 months of hire.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40 pound child.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.72 - $31.15.
  • A new hire generally starts between $28.72 and $29.93.
  • The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
