About the role

The role involves the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for various varsity and junior varsity teams. Additional duties include managing supply inventory, creating department policies, and supervising student helpers.

Job Description

MS

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program, successfully passed the Board of Certification exam and have completed all qualifications to be actively certified, be eligible for licensure under the State of Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure for Athletic Training. Candidates must be able to lift loads of 50 pounds or more, have great communication skills, have valid driver's license, and possess critical thinking skills. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: emergency preparedness, prevention, evaluation, referral, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for assigned teams; supply inventory and bidding; creation of department policy and procedure; assistance with implementation of university drug testing program; supervision of student helpers; opportunity to work with 32 varsity and 10 junior varsity athletic teams - home event and some away event coverage is required; other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Athletic team assignments will be based on current need and experience.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Athletic Training Education Program and be BOC certified and eligible for Kentucky licensure. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and a valid driver's license are also required.
