About the role

Deliver course activities including teaching, grading, mentoring, and coaching for nursing students. May also be responsible for course development, advising, and meeting departmental needs.

Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours). In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs.

  • BSN
  • MSN – Nurse Educator, Nursing Leadership, and Family Nurse Practitioner
  • MSN-MBA – Nursing Leadership dual degree
  • DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Leadership, Nurse Educator
  • CAGS – Family Nurse Practitioner

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master’s degree program in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Messiah University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

Simulation laboratories include advanced simulation with medium and high-fidelity human simulators.

Students also have opportunities for cross-cultural experiences, and intercultural competency development is encouraged.

Requirements

Requires a graduate degree in nursing or a BSN with enrollment in a graduate program, along with recent relevant clinical experience. Must hold a valid professional nursing license in Pennsylvania or a relevant multistate license.
