Job Description

The Children’s Academy is a nonprofit K–12 special education program serving students with speech, language, and learning differences. We are seeking collaborative, enthusiastic, and flexible Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our educational team. The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works closely with classroom teachers, consulting BCBAs, and related service providers to support students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally throughout the school day. Candidates should be committed to student growth, open to feedback, and comfortable working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Experience with de-escalation strategies and supporting dysregulated students is essential. CPI or Safety-Care training is preferred. Essential Responsibilities Provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students in classroom and therapeutic settings Work collaboratively with consulting BCBAs to implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and individualized support strategies Support students during academic instruction, transitions, and daily routines Work 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce academic, communication, behavioral, and social goals Utilize effective de-escalation strategies and behavior support techniques to assist dysregulated students safely and appropriately Collect and document behavioral and instructional data accurately Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student progress Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Psychology, Special Education, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Human Services, or a related field Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required at time of hire Experience working with children with special needs, speech and language delays, or learning disabilities preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to remain patient, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic school environment Demonstrated professionalism and openness to feedback
