The University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is seeking applications for a full-time Associate Athletic Trainer position within the Sports Medicine Department. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative and student-centered athletic healthcare environment at an NAIA institution.

Position Information

  • Position Title: Associate Athletic Trainer
  • Position Type: Full-Time, 11-Month
  • Start Date: To be determined upon hire
  • Sport Assignment: TBD

The Associate Athletic Trainer may also assume additional administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Sports Medicine Operations. When fully staffed, the University of the Cumberlands Sports Medicine Department includes eight full-time Athletic Trainers, one Insurance Administrator, and an on-site Physical Therapist who provides services four days per week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BOC Certified (or eligible for certification)
  • Hold or be eligible for Kentucky State Licensure
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; experience preferred

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sports Medicine Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services for assigned varsity teams
  • Cover practices, home varsity events, and team travel as assigned
  • Oversee daily rehabilitation and treatment activities
  • Prepare sports medicine facilities and practice/event coverage needs
  • Complete injury documentation and reporting using ATS (Keffer Development)
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising undergraduate work-study students and first aid responders
  • Coordinate medical appointments and insurance claims with the department Insurance Administrator
  • Manage annual pre-participation medical paperwork and clearance processes
  • Assist with summer orientation physicals for incoming freshmen and transfer students
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Sports Medicine Operations
