- Range: $13.00 - $13.00 HourlyA person in this position provides specific vocational skill training to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the various Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) services as defined by the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). As a staff member of the business unit, this person works closely with the supervisor to ensure the completion of work, regularly performing the tasks individually as well as working with a training program participant to perform the work. RESPONSIBILITIES Performs assigned work duties and training preparation duties in addition to the trainer role Implements and follows systematic training according to program plan requirements Train individuals on specific work requirements according to the employment program placement Conducts on-going assessment of the clients work skills against the demands of the work site Perform supervisor responsibilities by supervising the work of the client for a specific area of work Completes all necessary data entry and paperwork within the time frame required Relates problems, concerns, program ideas, or other items of interest in a timely manner to vocational training staff Follows all safety procedures and completes safety training. Participates in periodic staff training Advocates and makes accommodations with employers and the community to shape a positive image of persons with disabilities Dress to project professionalism PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to walk; sit for long periods on time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. (lifting up to 50 lbs. in Shredding and moving up to 300 lbs.)
- Work environment: This position involves moving with clients, sitting for periods of time, and occasionally driving to other work locations. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions and noise. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS GED/H.S diploma required. College training and a desire to work in a mission-based non-profit organization preferred, Training in a human services field of study a plus Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Passion for helping others Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and descriptive written documentation. Critical thinking/analytical skill preferred Demonstrated ability to give clear instructions in an encouraging tone. Ability to teach hard/soft skills Experience using computer applications, experience using a web-based application preferred Able to accommodate a flexible work/travel schedule as needed Able to pass a Criminal Background Check Must be able to participate and pass trainings to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR and MANDT training Strong social skills to be a PACE ambassador in the community.
