- Category: EducationGirls Golf Varsity Head Coach The Maclay School is seeking a Girls Golf Varsity Head Coach for the fall 2026 season. Under the direction of the director of athletics, the coach oversees the skill development, planning, and scheduling of the team throughout the season. The Maclay School prides itself on a rich academic and athletic success history. Developing student-athletes of equal passion and character is a priority of our program. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of the sport and understand how to teach, mentor and motivate student-athletes. This is a seasonal position running from

- Responsibilities: A thorough understanding of techniques, strategies, and rules of your sport, with the ability to impart this knowledge effectively to student-athletes. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members. Exemplary communication skills. Willingness to collaborate closely with other coaching staff and school administrators to ensure the overall success of the athletic program. Adherence to all school and FHSAA policies and regulations, as well as the Honor Code and sportsmanship expected by the Maclay School and its athletic programs.
- QualificationsQualifications: Demonstrated experience in your sport, with preference given to, candidates who have Coached at the collegiate and/or high school level. Competed at the collegiate level or possesses substantial high school experience. Club coaching experience. Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes the ability to travel to practices and games, some of which may be scheduled on weekends;
- Practices traditionally run from 3:30 pm and 6:00 pm on weekdays. Weekend practice times vary by sport. First Aid and CPR training - or willing to be trained; A love for working with young people and a commitment to an inclusive community;

Ability to stand, walk, and remain on one's feet for extended periods (2–3 hours) during practices, matches, and travel. Ability to demonstrate golf techniques, including swinging a club, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching as needed for instruction. Ability to walk a full golf course (up to 18 holes) over uneven terrain in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun, wind, and occasional rain. Ability to lift, carry, and transport athletic equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to observe player technique, monitor ball flight, and ensure player safety on the course. Auditory ability sufficient to communicate verbally with student-athletes, officials, parents, and staff in both indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to respond quickly in the event of a player injury or emergency situation. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or travel by bus or van to off-campus practices, matches, and tournaments.

- Environment: Work is performed primarily outdoors on golf courses and athletic facilities, with exposure to seasonal Florida weather conditions. Some indoor work in offices, classrooms, and athletic facilities is also required. Evening and weekend work is required during the season for practices, matches, and tournaments.
