Job description

Description Providence School is seeking a full-time 6th-grade mathematics teacher for the Middle School. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a passion for engaging students through hands-on learning and meaningful instruction. This teacher will challenge and inspire students academically while helping them grow spiritually, encouraging each student to deepen their relationship with God.

Job Responsibilities

The potential grade-level assignment includes 6th-grade mathematics but is subject to change year to year. Establish and maintain an effective, engaging, and orderly learning environment where students are challenged and supported Teach using a variety of instructional strategies, including projects and inquiry-based learning Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction while serving as a Godly role model inside and outside the classroom Build positive relationships with students to support their spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth Develop lesson plans, assignments, quizzes, projects, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards Craft instruction that recognizes and supports diverse learning styles Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent thought Evaluate and document student academic and social growth; maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and reports Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and counselors to support student success Participate actively in the life of the school and fulfill duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal or administration Maintain professional growth through staff development, curriculum planning, and collaborative meetings

Requirements

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Preferred

Prior Teaching Experience Current State of Florida and/or teaching certificate (or be willing to work toward one) exact certification requirements will vary based upon Providence courses taught and candidate degrees Effective communication skills; both verbally and written Enthusiastic interest in working with middle school students Ability to work effectively with other professionals
