What to expect as a School Nurse - LPN/RN

Hourly Rate
- $30-$32 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, Hours between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Flexible Summer hours offered in various settings; summer camps, clinics, per diem caths/vaccines, LTC
- Specialties; Trach/Vent, Feeding Tubes, Diabetes, Seizures, Catheters, Incontinence, Etc.

A School Nurse - LPN/RN provides individualized nursing care and medical support for a specific student throughout the school day. Responsibilities include monitoring the student’s health needs, administering medications and treatments, assisting with personal care when needed, and responding to medical situations or emergencies. The nurse works closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to help ensure the student can safely participate in the classroom and school environment while following the student’s individualized care plan.
Essential Functions for the School Nurse - LPN/RN
- Provide one-on-one nursing care and medical support for an assigned student throughout the school day
- Administer medications, treatments, and specialized medical care as ordered
- Monitor the student’s health needs and respond to medical situations or emergencies
- Assist with daily health, hygiene, mobility, or personal care needs when required
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support the student’s safety and success
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow the student’s individualized care plan
Minimum Requirements for the School Nurse - LPN/RN
- Current/Validated Nursing License in the State of Pa
- MUST have one (1) year nursing experience
- Pediatric, school-based, home care, or skilled nursing experience a PLUS
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid PA Driver's License and Transportation
