Ontario Christian School is seeking a qualified part-time (25 hours per week) Learning Center Aide who will assist in teaching students with learning needs. They build and maintain working relationships with teachers, students, parents and administrators. They maintain confidentiality regarding student information and other records pertaining to students and their families.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions: Follow the classroom teacher’s direction for the learning needs of the students. Assist in the implementation of instruction, accommodations and modifications as it is related to each student’s needs. Follow paper lesson plans. Show care, patience and love for students with unique learning needs. Collaborate with classroom teacher and other staff. Assist with classroom management. Assist with the organization of the classroom (i.e. filing, record keeping, etc.) Walk students through real-life situations from a Biblical perspective. Pray with students as needed. Discuss application of weekly memory verses. Strategies for working with students with special needs.

Requirements

0-2 years of experience working with students with special needs. 1-3 years of experience with young children/high school age children. Classroom experience working with students with special needs High School Diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred: AA in Child Development, Teaching or related field
