Market context
Nebraska school social worker roles are typically tied to student mental health, attendance, and special education support needs, so demand often follows district staffing gaps and behavioral health priorities. These positions are competitive because employers usually want a master’s degree plus an LCSW or LMHC credential, along with experience serving at-risk students and special education programs.
