Job description

  • Pay Range USD $52,000.00 - USD $55,000.00 /Yr.
  • Overview Counselors and Therapists, are you looking for a position with creative and enthusiastic co-workers in a supportive work setting, and no insurance billing?
  • Clarkson University’s Counseling Center is hiring master's-level, licensed professionals to join our team.
  • Responsibilities include individual and crisis counseling for enrolled students as well as education and outreach to promote wellness.
  • The benefits of working in a University setting are numerous, including manageable caseloads, access to on-campus facilities, comprehensive benefits, and free tuition for employees and their dependents.
  • Staff counselors work an 11-month schedule with a 1-month summer break.

Responsibilities

Provides individual group and couples counseling Provides crisis intervention Provides after-hours, on-call support as scheduled Conducts clinical and psychological assessment Maintains a working knowledge of DSM criteria, recommended therapeutic interventions, and refer for psychopharmacological evaluation Provides consultation services Provides referrals to students for on and off campus needs Provides outreach services and presentations Creates original presentations and workshops as assigned Demonstrate ability to make clinical and ethical decisions in a team-based environment Serves as liaison or committee member in designated area May serve as a coordinator of outreach, groups or other area as assigned Provides case management services as assigned Participates in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations as assigned Maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation and scheduling in electronic health records system Operate in a professional manner as regulated by Federal law, New York State law and professional and ethical guidelines of mental health professionals Assists with other projects, administrative duties and initiatives as assigned Performance of the above duties require you to be at work

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimal Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a master degree in mental health counseling related field, or PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology
  • Licensed or license eligible in the state of New York to practice mental health counseling

Preferred Qualifications

  • certification or significant training, and experience treating, trauma, eating disorders, and/or neurodiverse populations (ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, etc)
