Preschool Teacher – School Readiness Classroom

The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is seeking a caring and experienced Preschool Teacher to support children ages 3–5 in a structured classroom environment focused on kindergarten readiness, confidence, and social-emotional development.

This role is ideal for educators who enjoy creating engaging classroom experiences where children build independence, communication skills, and strong early academic foundations.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily preschool classroom routines and learning activities Encourage early literacy, math readiness, and problem-solving development Create a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment Guide children through classroom transitions and learning centers Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom progress and milestones Collaborate with teaching team members and center leadership Follow New York State childcare licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

Minimum 12 credits in Early Childhood Education required, or CDA, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education Prior preschool classroom experience preferred Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice Reliable, patient, and team-oriented approach Must meet New York State childcare licensing requirements
