About the role

The Lead Teacher plans and instructs children using an approved curriculum to promote holistic growth and development. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy classroom environment and building positive relationships with families.

Role: Childcare Lead Teacher

As a Discovery Point Childcare Lead Teacher, you will plan lessons and instruct children in activities according to the approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

In addition, you will promote and participate in all center functions, communicate with and develop positive relationships with all family members.

Childcare Lead Teacher Duties: Implement weekly curricula which address all learning goals Provide direction to other staff in classroom Responsible for organization and adherence to a daily schedule Adherence to all State and Discovery Point policies and regulations Communicate in a friendly, professional manner with parents, staff, and management Maintain a welcoming, upbeat, positive atmosphere in classroom Maintain safety and cleanliness of the classroom at all times Childcare Lead Teacher Qualifications: Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations Ability to obtain training in CPR/Fire Safety and other training required Must have CDA/degree in ECE Must be able to meet all state requirements for a lead teacher Teaching and working at Discovery Point is more than just a “daycare job.” It’s an opportunity to impact the lives of the children in your community with a rewarding career path in child care.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a CDA or a degree in Early Childhood Education and meet all state licensing requirements for lead teachers. Knowledge of childcare licensing rules and the ability to obtain CPR and Fire Safety certifications are required.
