The Learning Experience – Byron Center is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to guide our infant classroom and support children during their earliest developmental stages. This role focuses on creating a calm, responsive environment where infants feel secure while beginning to explore the world through sensory experiences and consistent routines.

This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys building strong relationships with families while leading a structured and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily classroom routines for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months Provide attentive care including feeding, diapering, and nap support Create a safe and engaging environment that supports early development Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration Maintain classroom organization and compliance with health and safety standards Communicate regularly with families about daily routines and developmental progress Support assistant teachers and help maintain consistent classroom structure Follow all Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required Prior infant classroom experience preferred Experience leading or supporting an infant classroom strongly preferred Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving practices Reliable, patient, and team-oriented Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Requirements
