401(k) Employee discounts SUMMARY Lititz Christian School is seeking a Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to serve students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4 at our main campus in Lititz. This individual will create a nurturing, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where young students develop foundational physical skills, healthy habits, teamwork, and a love for active play.
Instruction will be developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Pennsylvania Department of Education academic standards for health and physical education. The ideal candidate will encourage physical fitness, sportsmanship, and confidence while helping students understand the importance of caring for their bodies as part of honoring God.
- ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate physical education lessons for students in Pre-K and Elementary grades.
- Teach foundational movement skills, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits through a variety of activities and games.
- Adapt instruction to meet the developmental needs of a wide age range of learners.
- Foster a classroom and gym environment that encourages participation, confidence, cooperation, and respect.
- Integrate biblical themes and principles into physical education instruction.
- Organize and manage physical education equipment and supplies across campuses effectively.
- Promote physical fitness, wellness, and positive character development within the school community.
- Assess student progress through developmentally appropriate observation and skill-based evaluation.
- Maintain clear communication with teachers and administration to support student growth.
- Track student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Ensure a safe environment for all students during physical activities.
- Model Christ-like behavior in all interactions with students and staff.
Qualifications
Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and actively participates in a local church, supporting the mission and values of the school and integrating a biblical worldview into teaching. Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field preferred. Association of Christian Schools International certification preferred. Prior teaching experience with young children (Pre-Kindergarten through Elementary) preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of child development, physical education instruction, and age-appropriate fitness activities. Ability to design engaging, active, and developmentally appropriate lessons. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Flexibility in teaching spaces and schedules across multiple campuses. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for Christian education and the integration of faith and learning.
