- Position: The Training & Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the development and facilitation of New Horizons training programs for new employees and assisting with ongoing employee development.
Position Details
Full Time: 40 Hours per Week; Monday - Friday Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pay Range: $21 - $22 Job Knowledge and Comprehension: Responsible for conducting new employee orientation and training as scheduled. Determine and coordinate annual training requirements or re-certification of current employees. Assist the New Horizons Training Committee and various supervisors in evaluating the effectiveness of the employee orientation and training programs. Monitor compliance with ARSD standards relating to staff training. Displays sensitivity to people with disabilities. Respect rights of disabled individuals and understand principles of normalization Operates within the existing HSA/New Horizons organizational structure. Acts in accordance with all HSA approved personnel policies and procedures. Maintains good emotional balance and caring for all people. Schedule Direct Support Professionals and Superimposed for assigned locations, utilizing a scheduling software via Paycom. Ensure coverage provided to homes/programs matches the master schedule. Help DSCs troubleshoot coverage solutions when superimposed staff are not available. Attend weekly meetings with HR to discuss openings; and feedback delivered. Follow rules for approving overtime, ensuring overtime is low. Other duties as assigned consistent with non-exempt functions. Physical Requirements: Required to sit for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Occasionally this position may require lifting that exceeds 20 lbs. Must be able to drive vehicle occasionally. Qualifications Associate degree in human services, healthcare, business administration, education, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Successful completion of criminal background check. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. The Board of Directors of the Human Service Agency shall have the prerogative to hire staff whose qualifications may vary from the above. This position requires access to Electronic Personal Health Information (EPHI). Current HSA Policies and Procedures apply.
