About the role

Teach water safety and swimming skills specifically to children in the Special Needs Aquatics Program (SNAP). Adapt lessons to meet individual student needs and help children build confidence in the water.

Aqua-Tots Swim School is seeking a part-time, compassionate, and patient swim instructor to teach our SNAP (Special Needs Aquatics Program) swim lessons.

We are looking for individuals currently or formerly employed as paraprofessionals, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational or behavioral therapists, or those in similar fields and/or educational backgrounds that are seeking some additional hours supporting children with special needs.

Someone looking for 5-10 hours a week to use existing skills in a new fun way.

No prior swimming experience is required.

Current or prior education or work in similar fields required/expected/needed.

We will provide comprehensive training in our curriculum and equip you with the tools to adapt it to your existing strengths and expertise with special needs children.

Plus, with a starting pay of $22+/Hour, you can earn a competitive wage while doing what you love.

As a Special Needs Swim Instructor, you will: Work exclusively with children in our SNAP program.

Teach water safety and swimming skills in a supportive, friendly environment.

Adapt lessons to meet the needs of each child.

Celebrate progress with families and help children build confidence in and around water.

Requirements

Experience working with children with special needs(school, therapy, or support setting) Patience, compassion, and the ability to create a safe, supportive environment Willingness to follow Aqua-Tots safety guidelines and attend training A Little About Us Aqua-Tots Swim School specializes in teaching children to swim from day one.
