  • Purpose: The Instructor is responsible for teaching a specific topic for courses provided by the Education and Research Department.
  • Additional activities may include: curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation of course content. Education delivery may include lecture, lab, simulation, clinical, web based, just-in-time at the work site, and/or blended learning.
  • What you will Do:
  • Utilizes expertise in a specific content area to develop and present curriculum content for new and ongoing programs based on practice standards, regulatory and accreditation standards, evidence-based practice, etc.
  • Utilizes a functional outline and plan for each class.
  • Utilizes adult education principles to present or facilitate learning for specific content area.
  • Provides council to associates/participants as the need arises, maintaining confidentiality of all parties involved.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing and troubleshooting the available technology, equipment and other learning tools used in the classroom.
  • Prioritizes tasks, recognizing the importance and relationship to staff education and/or patient care.
  • Completes all job-related paperwork and records in a timely manner, i.e. course completion records, course evaluations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: 1. Education and experience are based on the knowledge, skills, and work experience required to develop, present, and evaluate specific course content. There may be specific education, licensure, and or certification requirements. Experience 1. Three years of recent successful clinical experience 2. Experience directly related to the knowledge and skills used related to the content area 3. Variety of nursing clinical experiences. 4. Prefer successful teaching experience with adults. Special Skills & Aptitudes 1. Excellent collaboration skills. 2. Excellent communication skills including public speaking skills and written skills. 3. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to deal with high volumes of information and diverse audiences. 4. Excellent organization and management skills. 5. Ability to work flexible hours. 6. Access to transportation to travel to various sites.
