Job description

Position Title

Lower Elementary Multigrade Teacher Reports To: Teaching Principal Employment Status: Full-Time Location: Desert Adventist Academy Essential

Duties and Responsibilities: Instructional Responsibilities

Plan and deliver instruction for multiple elementary grade levels within one classroom setting

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic abilities and learning styles

Develop engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and student participation

Maintain organized lesson plans and instructional records

Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents

Use classroom data to guide instructional decisions and interventions

Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences when appropriate

Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment Spiritual Leadership

Integrate Seventh-day Adventist beliefs and values into daily instruction and classroom culture

Lead classroom worships, prayer, and spiritual activities

Encourage Christ-like behavior and character development

Support the mission and philosophy of Adventist Christian education through personal example and professional conduct Classroom and Student Management

Establish clear classroom expectations and consistent behavioral procedures

Foster respectful relationships with students and families

Promote social-emotional growth and conflict resolution skills

Supervise students during assigned duties and school activities Collaboration and School Community

Work collaboratively with the teaching principal and school board

Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities

Participate in faculty meetings, school events, parent meetings, and school functions

Support school enrollment, marketing, and community-building efforts as needed

Assist with planning and implementation of school programs, field trips, and special events Professional Responsibilities

Maintain current NAD Teacher Certification or make satisfactory progress toward certification

Participate in professional development opportunities

Follow conference, union, and school policies and procedures

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times

Qualifications: Required:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Current NAD Teacher Certification with endorsement in Elementary Education (or willingness to obtain certification)

Active membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing

Knowledge of elementary instructional best practices and child development

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred: Experience teaching in a multigrade classroom

Experience in small school settings

Ability to differentiate instruction effectively across grade levels

Familiarity with standards-based grading and instruction

Proficiency with educational technology tools

Physical Requirements: Ability to supervise and actively engage with elementary-aged students throughout the school day

Ability to lift instructional materials and classroom supplies as needed
