Job description

  • Overview Part Time Hours - Wednesdays + Fridays, 10 hr shifts between 6am-6pm Provides childcare services which meet the developmental needs of each child. Follows the daily lesson plans and routines established by the teacher. Works effectively with other team members. The teacher assistant follows hospital, department and Department of Human Services policies and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Implements plans and age/developmentally appropriate programs for assigned group of children.
  • Interact appropriately and positively with children, participating in and encouraging children’s play.
  • Attend to personal and physical needs of children.
  • Assist teachers with record keeping and room visuals.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, child oriented, safe environment.
  • Communicates children’s day to parents/guardians by written and verbal methods.

Qualifications

Education: For Accredited Centers – Child Development Associate (CDA) – 1 year diploma or 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education required.

Experience

  • One (1) or more years in an Early Childhood classroom or similar required.
  • License(s)/Certification(s): Current and will be maintained Certification of Pediatric First Aid and CPR required within 90 days of hire. Training for Mandatory reporting of Child Abuse required within 90 days of hire. Training for Mandatory reporting of Dependent Adult Abuse required within 90 days of hire. Essentials Child Care Preservice required within 90 days of hire.
