This position is responsible for assisting with organizing the Carondelet High School Tennis program. The position prioritizes integrity, innovation, and inspiration while assisting with practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques. The Assistant Varsity Tennis Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations of Carondelet High School, the East Bay Athletic League, and the North Coast Section. Essential Responsibilities

Assures respect for the uniqueness of the individual athlete and develops the whole person by demanding good sportsmanship, promoting positive coaching practices, communicating effectively with all constituents, and establishing and fostering good relationships with student-athletes, parents, faculty members, administrators, and coaches.

Assist with the entire program, including varsity and sub-varsity teams, as needed, and promote leadership and character development among all student-athletes.
Follow and maintain knowledge of school policies and procedures relevant to the position.
Instruct and demonstrate the skills and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
Assist with developing game strategy and team practices for the Junior Varsity Cheer team.
Ensure proper maintenance of all athletics equipment, uniforms, and facilities is adhered to.
Assist in the implementation of disciplinary policies and emphasize sportsmanship.
Maintain a safe environment, including facilities, for student-athletes at all times.
Ensure that medical and safety procedures are followed in the event of an athlete’s injury.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Carondelet Head Varsity Tennis Coach or Director of Athletics.
Administrative Duties
Adhere to all school financial policies regarding the collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
Maintain and post necessary records and complete required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
Ensure that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
Participate in special activities, including parent’s night, banquets, award nights, etc.
Terms of Volunteer Participation
Seasonal stipend as per agreement.
Preferred experience in high school, club, or college-level tennis coaching and a bachelor's degree. Required certifications include CPR, First Aid/AED, and NFHS Coaching.
