About the role

Provide psychiatric care for seriously mentally ill patients in an adult inpatient program with a caseload of 9-10 patients. Collaborate with psychiatric nurse practitioners and teach rotating medical students.

District Medical Group, Inc., (DMG), a large multi-specialty faculty practice group is seeking an Inpatient Attending Psychiatrist for our adult inpatient program to staff Valleywise Behavioral Health Center in Mesa, Arizona. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with hospitalized, seriously mentally ill patients.

Opportunity Details

  • Caseload is 9-10 patients
  • Collaboration with a psychiatric nurse practitioner
  • Teaching of rotating medical students, with faculty appointment available to the Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Arizona College of Medicine, both in Phoenix.
  • This is a full-time position with all benefits, including
  • Four weeks of paid time off
  • One week of CME (with an annual CME allowance of $4,000)
  • Ten paid holidays
  • Retirement plan
  • Employer paid malpractice coverage

Candidates must be Board certified or in the process of Board certification and must possess an Arizona medical license prior to beginning employment.

DMG is a not-for-profit faculty practice plan owned and operated by physicians consisting of approximately 500 providers who represent all the major medical and surgical specialties. DMG offers an outstanding work environment, and a very competitive compensation plan/benefits package.
