Required Education and/or Work Experience: Hold a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Arkansas. Hold a minimum of a master's degree in nursing. Preference is for a doctorate degree in nursing or another related field. Have experience in clinical nursing practice and collegiate nursing education. Holds a membership(s) in professional organizations. Preferred education and/or Work Experience: The Bachelor of Science Nursing Faculty shall: A. Hold a current unencumbered license or is eligible to obtain a license as a registered nurse in the State of Arkansas. B. Hold a master's degree in nursing, doctorate preferred. C. Have experience in facilitation of learning in the on-line/hybrid learning environment, clinical nursing practice, and collegiate nursing education. D. Hold membership in professional organizations. E .Have expertise in alternate learning strategies (i.e., Blackboard Learning Systems) and various software. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities(65%): (5%) Adheres to course objectives and program outcomes in developing appropriate class content and objectives. (5%) Assists in developing standards for nursing students' admission, progression, and graduation. Serves as a professional role model for the student. (5%) Assumes responsibility for adhering to policies related to examinations and preparing test items. (5%) Attends and participates in meetings as scheduled by the SON Executive Director and Dean of the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences. (5%) Collaborates with peers, the Executive Director of Nursing, the Assistant Executive Director, and the Accelerated Track Coordinator regarding curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. (5%) Furnishes evidence of current CPR certification, immunizations, TB skin test, chest x-ray, or waiver on an annual basis. (5%) Maintains appropriate records regarding student evaluation and progress. (5%) Maintains high academic standards by adhering to standards established by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. (5%) Participates in theoretical and clinical instruction as the SON Executive Director assigns. (5%) Participates in academic advising and counseling. (5%) Participates in the faculty, student, and program evaluation process. (5%) Participates in recruitment and retention of students within the School of Nursing. (5%) Uses appropriate instructional resources to facilitate student progress toward meeting objectives. Other Job Duties and Responsibilities (35%): Consistently participates in scholarly and/or service activities. Develop effective working relationships within the School of Nursing, College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences, UAFS, and community. Maintains security and confidentiality of all records and examinations. Maintains availability hours for consultation. Maintains an electronic copy of all lecture materials on file in the SON. Participates in professional and community activities to bring education, service, and research findings together to improve health care. Participates in continuing education programs to remain current in practice. Promotes the goals, objectives, and reputation of the SON with the College of Health, Education and Human Sciences, UAFS, and the community. Promotes cohesiveness between faculty and students within the SON. Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters teamwork and provides leadership for subordinates. Submits goals for the coming year by assigned due date. Other duties as assigned.
