In this position, you’ll serve as both a mentor and role model, helping campers develop confidence, teamwork skills, and independence throughout the summer. Responsibilities Supervising and facilitating various recreational activities and field trips for children 6-12 years of age Providing a safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally, to ensure safe operations of a quality program as well as ensuring that participants/campers are aware of rules and schedule of daily activities Will also assist in planning and implementing of daily activities and will take responsibility of for the quality of supplies, equipment, and facilities as well as assist in daily maintenance of program areas to ensure safety and cleanliness Oversee up to 40 campers per week and monitor the surroundings and children’s well-being Plus, other work-related tasks assigned by supervisor Disclaimer This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. Qualifications Qualifications The ideal candidates will possess a very helpful demeanor, always ensuring a positive parent/staff relationship Previous experience working with children, youth programs or summer camps Must be in possession of or have the willingness and ability to acquire First Aid/CPR/AED Must demonstrate responsibility, punctuality, and dependability The ability to stand or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time while working both outdoors and indoors Must be able to lift or carry up to 40lbs Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities to monitor surroundings and children’s well-being Ability to remain calm, friendly, and professional Be able to read and interpret safety rules Team player, who will include substituting for other team members when necessary Pay $19.00 - $20.00 per hour EEO & Values Statement RMEO is a values‑based, equal opportunity employer.
