The ideal candidate is professionally passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

About Hope Homes – Timber House

Hope Homes – Timber House provides a therapeutic environment that focuses on providing individualized care and support to our residents, between 14 – 21 years old. Our team of professionals play a vital role in helping our adolescents navigate their unique challenges and empower them to reach their full potential. Hope Homes – Timber House believes in the power of a supportive and inclusive community.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation and transportation to appointments and activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment for each resident.
  • Collaborative with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other career development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • A high school or high school equivalency diploma and one year of experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field that is unrelated to social work or psychology and six months’ experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related field

Other requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances

In addition, the ideal Youth Support Worker

Has strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.

Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by these individuals.

Will be able to assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.

Can remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrate patience and understanding.
