Job description
- Our School-Age Programs department seeks responsible, caring individuals to work as a Counselor or afterschool class assistant in our After-School Clubhouse program, Mondays - Thursdays, from 2:30-5:30 pm.
- Clubhouse provides a safe and welcoming environment for children ages 4-10 after their school day.
- There are four different groups of children each day, divided by age and grade.
- Our vision is to raise thoughtful community members while recognizing the individual needs of our participants.
- All applicants must be available during the school year, which runs from September 8th, 2026 to June 10th, 2027.

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Pick up children from local schools on the Upper West Side and escort them to the JCC Work with a team to provide a safe and fun environment and create a positive classroom culture for children in the Clubhouse program Assist with age-appropriate activities for children ages 4-10 Assist with afterschool specialty classes as needed Follow each child's daily schedule of activities and ensure prompt arrival and pickup from classes Close collaboration with lead counselors and supervisors Attend program orientation and staff development meetings every other month Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Requirements
