- Position
- Overview: The Work Readiness Coordinator at The Arc Ontario develops and delivers engaging work readiness and career exploration instruction for students and adults with disabilities, helping individuals build essential workplace skills, identify career interests, and prepare for successful competitive employment. This role blends curriculum development, vocational assessment, individualized and group instruction, and coordination of community-based work experiences, while also collaborating with schools, families, employers, and community partners to create strong, inclusive career pathways. The Work Readiness Coordinator monitors progress, identifies needed accommodations, maintains accurate documentation, and supports participants in achieving meaningful employment outcomes that promote independence and community inclusion. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve work readiness, career exploration, and workforce development curriculum tailored to diverse learning needs. Deliver group and individualized instruction in classroom, community-based, and virtual settings. Assist individuals with career planning, resume development, interview preparation, job applications, and employment goal setting.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field plus three (3) years of experience providing employment and training services to people with disabilities or equivalent amount of education and experience. Valid NYS Driver's License required. Strong organizational, communication, instructional, and documentation skills essential. Experience with curriculum development, vocational assessment, Pre-ETS, ACCES-VR services, and community-based employment services preferred.
